The Effect of Yoga on Your Body

Yoga Asanas are performed with a passive stretching action that keeps major joints, related ligaments and muscles flexible. This stretch also effects the deep tissues, arteries, veins, capillaries and correcting the tone from toe to the head. This action develops elasticity and suppleness in the spine region that is essential for the long and healthy life. It also exercises the brain, eyes, face, ears, nose and every area of the body. Other exercises are not capable of influencing the above areas.

Yoga mainly works on the involuntary muscles that adequately maintains proportional development of the voluntary muscles, which results in a thorough development of the whole body. Whereas other exercises develop only voluntary muscles which can extend in access to normal that can cause problems in old age such as too slack and ugly looking enlarged skin.

Yoga has a unique combination of Asanas and Pranayama, that has the potential to deeply effect the nervous system, including thirty two pairs of the nerve roots in the spinal cord, twelve pairs of nerves in the cranium, autonomous nerve system. This combined system improves the high volume energy flow within the spine and up to top of the head (crown chakra). Other exercises do not produce even a quarter of this result.

Yoga has a great ability to correct the postural defects including those of the spinal defects
1. Kyphosis (humpback)
2. Scoliosis (greater muscular development in one side of the body)
3. Lordosis (lumbar area beer bally) and equally effective on any part of the body, we can not compare other exercise here.

Almost all Asanas effect (directly or indirectly) the spinal cord (nervous system) and the abdominal area (digestive system). The nervous system is responsible for a healthy brain and around-the-clock activities of the body; the digestive system is responsible for the proper digestion of food to maintain a healthy body. If both systems are perfectly healthy, it greatly supports and encourages the high performance of remaining bodily systems. Through Yoga practice, problems such as stress, tension, tiredness, worries and headaches disappear and one can enjoy the complete relaxation and full joy in life. Other exercises are partially equipped for this kind of result.

The respiratory system gets complete exercise through Yoga and thus provides proper routes for the gaseous exchange. Wind is causing problems such as gastric ulcer, indigestion, belching and acidity, which Yoga can cure successfully other exercises fail. It is a scientific fact that breathing exercise can cure asthma, bronchitis, headaches, high blood pressure, low blood pressure and many more.

The effects of Yoga on the following glands are remarkable:
The pituitary glands are directly under the control of the brain.
Thyroid and Parathyroid glands: Thyroid controls metabolic rate, body growth, intestinal absorption, maintenance and growth of the nervous system and body temperature. Parathyroid maintains proper level of blood Calcium and phosphate.
Pancreatic glands Pancreatic stimulates two hormones - 1. Insulin: which lower the plasma glucose concentration BSL 2. Glucagon: Rises BSL.
Adrenal glands: Adrenal produces two hormones - 1. Minralocortisoids: Mainly concerned with salt and fluid balances 2. Glucocortisoids: Effects carbohydrates, protein and lipid metabolism.
Pineal glands: all these glands produce hormones that are building and maintaining the body and brain. It is a proven fact that Yoga is influencing glands directly to get the desired results.
